Our business

As a 50:50 joint venture between Wesfarmers and SQM, we draw upon decades of expertise and excellence in chemical refining processes to produce solutions that address the need for sustainable energy. Our Mount Holland mine and concentrator and Kwinana refinery are set to produce approximately 50,000 tonnes of battery grade lithium hydroxide per annum, enough to power around one million EVs and replace regular vehicles on the road each year.

The establishment of a mine, concentrator, and refinery in Western Australia allows complete control over the end-to-end value chain. Our operations are strategically positioned for local and international markets, and have great long-term potential, with a significant expected mine life of approximately 50 years at our proposed production rate. When fully constructed, Covalent Lithium will be a major, fully integrated producer of premium, battery-grade lithium hydroxide in Western Australia.
